Located in film-friendly Tuolumne County the Sierra Railroad
is one of the most versatile railroad locations anywhere. Over
300 motion pictures, television shows and commercials have featured
this 50 mile railroad. We have things you can't find in Southern
California, small towns with looks ranging from the 19th-century
to the present and scenery that doubles the Great Plains, Midwest,
Rockies, Appalachians, Ozarks and rural South. Combine these
locations with period and contemporary passenger and freight
trains and you can find exactly what your script calls for, close
to home, in an area known for its hospitality. But don't take

- Contemporary Trains
The Sierra Railroad Company regularly operates
a variety of diesel locomotives as part of its normal freight
service to communities in the Mother Lode. Contemporary freight
trains are part of its normal workday activity. We can accomodate
your needs day or night, day in and day out.
Our weekend passenger trains are available for your needs during
the week. We can even accomadate an Amtrak train. Amtrak may
be the only source for the latest style in passenger equipment.
But we are the best source for diverse locations you can control.

By working in close cooperation with the folks at Railtown
1897 State Historic Park you can have a wide selection of period
freight and passenger trains, including authentic trains of
the old west. in settings that range from "Dodge City"
locales to rugged mountains.
